Where the work happens

Does your team decide without you, and do you hear in time?

This diagnostic reads the one team you lead directly, and the people on it: whether the team knows what matters now, how work reaches it, what each person is carrying, what done means, which decisions the team makes without you, where its work waits on other teams, what you hear and when, how people grow, how the team learns, and what could go wrong. It is built for what you can see and change from where you sit, not for questions that belong to the levels above you, and it rates no person.

Practice foundations

The domains and item wording are informed by the Project Management Institute standards on work in progress and flow, ISO 37000 on delegation and accountability, ISO 31000 and COSO Enterprise Risk Management on ownership at every level, the IIA Three Lines Model on first-line ownership, which is where the work is managed, and peer-reviewed work on psychological safety in work teams, decision rights, attention residue, and organizational learning collected in the research foundations. These references inform the constructs; none certifies, validates, or endorses this developmental instrument, and the Four A's of Organizational Readiness™ is the integrating architecture.
