Readiness Under Pressure™
Anyone can hold the conditions when the quarter is calm. The Readiness System is only proven when the conditions come under load. Readiness Under Pressure is the capstone: a scenario-based certification that tests whether a leadership team can keep the Four A's intact when reality stops cooperating.
What it certifies
Not knowledge of the framework. Practice of it under load. The certification attests that a team can run the full readiness loop, diagnose, plan, execute, and debrief, against a scenario built to degrade each of the four conditions in turn, and still protect the conditions that determine performance.
The four pressures
Each condition is tested by the pressure most likely to break it.
Attention
under OverloadSignals arrive faster than they can be processed. The team is scored on whether it protects attention for the few decisions that decide the outcome, rather than reacting to everything.
Alignment
under AmbiguityThe intent is clear but the situation is not. The test is whether people still act toward the same outcome when the plan no longer fits and no one is available to ask.
Authority
under TimeDecisions cannot wait for the top of the organization. The test is whether authority is already at the point of work, so the right person decides in time.
Adaptability
under SurpriseA core assumption fails partway through. The test is whether the team changes the system that produced the problem, rather than working harder inside it.
How the simulation works
The team is given a scenario on a compressed timeline, with information that is incomplete and sometimes contradictory. As it unfolds, the situation degrades one condition at a time, then several at once.
The team runs the Readiness System against it: read the conditions, design the plan, execute while preserving those conditions, and debrief what reality changed. Decisions are assessed on whether they protect the conditions, not on how much activity they generate. Speed without preservation does not pass.
The debrief is part of the certification, not an afterthought. A team certifies by showing it can learn from the scenario, name the assumption that failed, and carry a durable capability forward, which is the whole point of the loop.
Prerequisites
Complete Learn to See and run the Executive Organizational Diagnostic first. The capstone assumes a team that already shares the language of the Four A's and knows its own baseline conditions.
